Myra power, a Boston philanthropist and wife of billionaire New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, died today. She was 68 years old.
The Patriots announced Kraft's death in a statement:
"Words can not the deep concern, we learn that the passing of Myra Hiatt Kraft feeling Express." Myra died early after a courageous battle with cancer. We are all heartbroken. "The world community have suffered a great loss philanthropic and the New England Patriots family."
$ 172 Million, Kraft's husband bought the struggling NFL in 1994 for record. The team is now almost $1.4 billion. Myra power to the to benefit her family wealth and status to many philanthropic causes.
She was a series of non-profit boards, including the greater Boston, combined Jewish aid organisations the young & girls clubs of Boston, the United way of Massachusetts Bay, Brigham and women's Hospital in Boston, American Repertory Theatre, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and her alma mater, Brandeis University.
In a 2007 interview with the Boston Globe, power stressed that that was their primary role as a philanthropist. "It is easy to write a check," she said. "But that's what I see as what is my profession." I do not know how to play bridge, nor will I learn how to bridge play. "This is what I do."
